Job SummaryThe English Studio is a small English school based in Umbria, the green heart of Italy. With classes of children, teens and adults of no more than 6 per class, we offer personalised courses based on the needs and expectations of our students. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced ESL teacher with a passion for working with children. This teaching post is made for those who want to have fun. There is a clear academic programme and end of year exams to work towards, but we find that students learn best when they are enjoying themselves

The majority of our students are between 7 and 14 years old, which is why having fun is our main objective.

Teachers must have an excellent understanding of grammar and step-by-step instruction, but very importantly we are looking for teachers who are able to transform work into play.

We take students from the age of 5 right the way up to adult learners, offering exam courses in Trinity/Cambridge/IELTS.

Support is provided for any new teaching experiences, which includes initial training, aid in lesson planning, shadowing and the provision of lesson material.

The role runs from September 2024 to the beginning of June 2025.

Preferably, we are looking for someone interested in a long-term collaboration and professional development, creating extra-curricular activities like school parties / cultural exchanges (we are twinned with a school in Sirutar, Nepal), English aperitivos and other creative ways of learning English.

As we also teach in state schools and private companies, classes will be both in school and part of outreach projects.

The school is based in Foligno, a lively medieval 'city' in central Italy which lends itself to meeting new people; with a lively night life, excellent restaurants and a huge outdoor sports scene, there is plenty to do.

It is also very well connected by train, with easy access to both Rome and Florence.QualificationsTeachers absolutely must be native level English speakers.

Experience is the most important factor when considering candidates for this post, alongside TEFL/TESOL qualifications and/or university degrees.

Only those who are Italian residents OR currently hold an EU passport will be considered for these posts.Salary and BenefitsWe are looking for a full time teacher and a part time teacher with the possibility of increasing hours.

For full time teachers we offer an average of 25 hours a week from 3-8pm (Mon-Fri), with additional morning classes for adults or outreach work.

Salary of 1,200-1,400 euros per month, up to 1,600 euros with outreach projects.
