Library Specialist


The successful candidate will join our library at our school in Rome and will report hierarchically to the School Director and functionally to the Library Manager based in Milan.

The Library Specialist actively contributes to the excellent level of library services, accessibility to resources and information, and provides operational support.

The selected candidate will carry out the following activities:

  • Manage and monitor the flow of users in the library, ensuring compliance with the Regulation.
  • Ensure and improve the efficiency of online databases with the aim of ensuring the use of all materials and resources by students and teachers.
  • Compile statistics on data related to the use of library services to adjust activities and ensure a consistently high quality of service.
  • Ensure and improve the collection, cataloging and disposal of books, magazines, DVDs and theses.
  • Guarantee efficient use and access to online resources and circulation software for student and Faculty loans.
  • Collaborate in the purchase of the texts requested by the faculty and in the renewal of subscriptions to magazines and services.
  • Publishe the competitions proposed by companies in the dedicated area of the library website.
  • Print dedicated signs with information on the Library services.
  • Support the Faculty by printing handouts and exam papers.
  • Carry out the activity of collecting, sharing, and downloading thesis documents for all courses.
  • Monitor the correct uploading of thesis materials by graduating students and ensure that the thesis committees receive them within the established deadlines.

Requirements:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite

BA/MA in Languages or Humanities studies

B2/C1 level of English

Customer-oriented, highly motivated, precise, with excellent interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate has previous experience of 3/4 years in similar role.

He/She is flexible and energetic team player. Good interpersonal skills to interact with the various internal work areas, students, teachers and course leader
