Role: Biomarker Identification for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Treatment Strategy Project

Project Description:
  • Enhancing biomedical research in the NHS
  • Focus on predicting treatment outcomes for non-metastatic advanced rectal cancer patients
  • Development of personalized treatment strategies through biomarker discovery
  • Utilization of genomic and proteomic analysis for treatment optimization
  • Establishment of patient-derived tumor biorepository
  • Contribution to advancing precision medicine in rectal cancer treatment

Job Profile and Activities:
  • Position: 2 Post docs
  • Development and application of advanced drug treatment methods
  • Molecular study of drug response/resistance mechanisms
  • Coordination between surgical, endoscopic, and precision medicine lab activities
  • Biological sample collection and genomic data interpretation
  • Characterization of new oncogenic mechanisms

Qualifications:
  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, or related field

Technical Skills:
  • Interest in cancer biology
  • Experience with patient samples and cell culture techniques
  • Proficiency in flow cytometry and drug screening
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Grant writing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in primary cell culture and 3D models
  • English fluency (B2 minimum)
  • Manuscript writing skills
  • Multi-tasking abilities
