The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) supports the transformation to More efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems, for Better production, Better nutrition, Better environment and Better life, leaving no one behind. The Office of Communications (OCC) is responsible for both external and internal communications of the Organization. It aims at making FAO's communications strategic, coherent, focused and impactful, while ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in communication-related operations

Reporting Lines:

The incumbent will report to Chief of the Digital and Multimedia Branch, working closely with the heads of Web, Social and Multimedia.

Technical Focus:

The incumbent plays a significant role in the Digital and Multimedia Branch (OCCI) of the Office of Communications, employing analytical skills in support of strong digital communications to further FAO's work to build sustainable agrifood systems and achieve food security worldwide. This is a strategically and technically demanding role where the incumbent will help develop data insights that inform communication strategies and empower colleagues to make data-informed decisions. The role is likely to require collaboration with colleagues across the Organization including in HQ technical divisions and Decentralized Offices.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Support day-to-day monitoring and evaluation of the Organization's digital presence. This includes

Evaluating the digital performance and impact and suggesting action items based on data-driven analysis for selected pages of , and providing insights based on the analyzed data to improve FAO's web presence. Specific focus will be given to key sections of the website such as: homepage, DG's website, interactive stories, feature stories, Media, World Food Day and high-level campaigns, and Governing Bodies. Evaluating the impact of FAO's social media presence, including weekly growth monitoring, reporting around key campaigns (notably, International Days and Years, and key accounts such as @FAODG), providing insights into what is working well and what can be improved. Evaluating the performance and impact of FAO's content and multimedia, including via social media channels, news video for broadcast media, and providing regular reports on key metrics as well as specific reports on important FAO communication campaigns using the corporate monitoring tools. Producing evidence-based reports for key stakeholders to support communication strategies and the decision-making process. Researching latest trends in digital innovation and communication and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to support the Organization to better communicate with different target audiences, and provide action items based on behavioural marketing analysis. Reporting on digital indicators to FAO Members (MTP indicators) as required by the management.

Support the standardization of a robust methodology and workflow for building evidence-based reports, using state-of-the-art visual reporting

Support the evaluation of the processes to implement platforms and tools for digital communications. This includes: Coordinating the technical implementation of digital analytics and data monitoring tools with the relevant teams in the Digitalization and Informatics Division (CSI). Participating in the tendering process for monitoring and evaluation tools for FAO. Perform other duties as required.

Candidates Will Be Assessed Against The Following:

Minimum Requirements:

University degree in data analysis, SQL, data visualization, or a related field or working knowledge of website, social media platforms and multimedia content monitoring and reporting.1 year (Level C) or 5 years (Level B) of relevant experience in data analysis. For consultants, working knowledge (Level C) of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish). For PSAs, working knowledge (Level C) of one of FAO's official languages. Level B of another language is desirable.

Technical/Functional Skills:

Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirableExtent and relevance of experience in the field of communication services for prominent organizations, particularly at the international level.Extent and relevance of experience in producing high-quality digital and multimedia materials for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and audiences.Extent and relevance of experience in managing and monitoring multilingual social media channels and campaigns including knowledge of back-end technologies required.Demonstrated experience in handling corporate social media accounts across multiple language
