Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Materials and Special Processes Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia - IT.

Accountabilities:

  1. Ability on the use of the materials and special processes requirement management with DOORS.
  2. Management of materials and special processes documentation and activities, with special reference to torque tightening and riveting.
  3. Collaborate with the sub-project groups (internal and external) and ensure the development of the assigned project part.
  4. Be the referent for internal and/or external resources involved in the materials and special processes design project team and will be responsible for coordinating the whole team.
  5. Knowledge of bonding, painting and corrosion protection.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Experience to perform the aforementioned tasks as described in the section above.
  2. Master of Science or technical degree required in Mechanics or Materials.
  3. A minimum of 1 year working in railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as materials or special processes engineer.
  4. Availability for short domestic and overseas trips.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge on DIN25201 and VDI2230.
  2. Knowledge of TSI.
  3. Analytic approach.
  4. Team-working attitude.
  5. Flexibility.
  6. Result orientation.

Education/Qualifications: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in Material or deeply experienced in the materials and special processes in the railway field.

Languages: Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level.
