Responsibilities
  1. Develop an understanding of the specific mechanical engineering requirements per project
  2. Study and become familiar with the elementary system drawings
  3. Conveyor manifests
  4. Knowledgeable of equipment
  5. Engineering hours estimate
  6. Project contract requirements and options
  7. Provide technical interface with customer’s project representative(s)
  8. Project scope definitions
  9. 3D model reviews
  10. System level reviews
  11. Equipment and/or installation issues
  12. Contract and execute mechanical change orders
  13. Customer specifications / standards
  14. Flow rate improvements
  15. Mentor and navigate issues with less experienced Project Engineers
  16. Priorities, organization, and time management
  17. Mechanical lessons learned
  18. Mechanical equipment and installation
  19. Constructability
  20. Field issues
  21. System level design
  22. Change Orders
  23. Develop, maintain, and assist with creating a mechanical engineering schedule that provides timely delivery of material to fully support an installation schedule.
  24. Thorough grasp of project contract documents including clarifications and exceptions.
  25. Execute the project within the budget and hours in the contract estimate.
  26. Provide extensive technical support for Project Engineers, vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering sub-contractors as related to inquiries
  27. Host weekly meetings with project team members and customers
  28. Delegate and monitor tasks given to project engineers and other engineering team members on regular cadence
  29. Assist Procurement with ordering long lead items
  30. Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment and customer general specifications and standards
  31. Help Project Engineers interpret and ensure compliance to customer specifications.
  32. Communicate project specific information with other departments
  33. Release drawings for installation and fabrication
  34. Create material purchase requests
  35. Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur
  36. Communicate status updates to engineering management on a regular cadence
  37. Be cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service.
  38. Check drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.
  39. Perform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needs
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Efficient in a schedule driven environment
  2. Read, understand, and apply customer specifications
  3. Communicate proficiently to customers, vendors, co-workers, and management
  4. Good interpersonal skills
  5. Above average mentorship and teaching skills
  6. Excellent time management skills
  7. Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiries
  8. Good industry knowledge
  9. Good knowledge of material handling equipment and operations
  10. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and process improvements at once
  11. Effectively lead and mentor a project team of up to 10 project engineers and designers
  12. Estimate mechanical hours and support with change orders
  13. Experience with Microsoft Office, such as Outlook and Excel are required
  14. Familiar with AutoCAD and Inventor, Navisworks, and BIM is a plus
  15. Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
Education and Experience
  1. Six to ten years of material handling equipment experience preferably within the conveyor systems industry
  2. Experience with executing and supporting multiple mid to large projects
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design
Travel Requirements

Some international travel required +/- 15%. Depends on project needs and urgency.
