THE ROLE
Sun Chemical is looking for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for the Caleppio di Settala plants, reporting hierarchically to the Director of Engineering EMEA and functionally to the Operations Director Italy. The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will develop all phases of complex projects involving significant modifications to the plant systems, coordinating internal maintenance activities and external contractors, while respecting established timelines and costs. The role ensures the ongoing maintenance of efficient and safe functionality of plants, equipment, and company properties, with particular emphasis on safety. The Manager will also work to improve the production cycle in terms of product quality, process, equipment usage, and participate in the development of maintenance and investment plans in collaboration with plant management.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with workshop managers to implement, plan, and execute preventive maintenance interventions.
- Ensure timely resolution of faults by interfacing with the relevant business functions.
- Propose improvement interventions in maintenance activities and production processes after agreement with involved business functions and ensure their execution.
- Coordinate with the RSPP and Plant Management in evaluating and executing corrective actions and improvements in health and safety.
- Supervise the activities of site workshop managers and maintenance operators to ensure compliance with directives, procedures, and instructions regarding Safety, Environment, Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Immediately report deficiencies in safety devices and other hazardous situations.
- Support the project manager in various phases of the design related to complex interventions involving innovations and/or significant modifications across interconnected sections of the production cycle.
- Participate in the execution of approved investment projects by managing technical activities, controlling work progress (supplies, internal/external personnel, materials) until acceptance testing, ensuring resolution of all emerging issues during the work.
- Assist the Purchasing Department in negotiations with external contractors for the assignment of contracts and tenders, ensuring the definition of technical specifications for supplies.
- In collaboration with the RSPP, ensure that all phases of the projects coordinated, from design to assembly and commissioning, whether assigned to internal personnel or external companies, comply with current safety regulations and environmental protection.
YOUR PROFILE
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation.
Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
Excellent knowledge of Office Suite and AutoCAD.
At least 2-3 years in a similar role.
Good interpersonal skills.
