RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Agronomist to join its office in Milan (Italy) within the ESG & Sustainability Division.
MissionThe Resource Efficiency and Management Unit of RINA is seeking a highly motivated resource to join our projects in the agribusiness sector. They will support the team in the management and technical development of projects with a focus on agro-energy and sustainable agriculture.
Working in our Milan Office and at Clients' facilities, the successful candidate shall have a strong interest in agronomy, bioenergy, energy transition, decarbonization, circular and green economy topics, good communication skills, and a strong teamwork attitude.
Key Accountabilities- Participate in the Team activities in the framework of agro-energy projects for the sustainable production of biofuels, contributing to the evaluation of new agri-feedstocks and relevant categorization within the European biofuels’ regulation framework.
- Support the management of the entire supply chain, from the point of origin of the agri-feedstock to the obligated party, for compliance with the ISCC principles and Low ILUC additionality.
- Cooperate with technical teams for new technologies adaptation in several different situations and collaborate with farmers and colleagues for training assets and field assets.
- Contribute to field decisions and activities of crop and soil sampling for monitoring crop status, soil health, and environmental status.
- Participate in the Team activities in the framework of sustainable food and agriculture projects, contributing to all four pillars of food security (availability, access, utilization, and stability) and the dimensions of sustainability (environmental, social, and economic).
- Interact actively with international colleagues, partners, and customers to support the project technical activities related to agro-topics.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality technical reports and results.
- Support the team in the general management of the projects meeting client’s requests.
- Promote new business opportunities and participate in project proposal writing.
- Up to 3 years of work experience in agribusiness.
- Knowledge of ISCC Certification or other similar standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of Food Security is a plus.
- Previous experience in a consultancy company is a plus.
- English and Italian advanced level; other languages knowledge will be a plus (especially French).
- Ability to write well-structured, concise, and well-reasoned reports, proposals, and documents is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, proactive to meet short deadlines.
- Availability for business trips within and outside the EU.
- Interest and curiosity in the energy and resource efficiency sector.
- Knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Learn and develop personally - both on the job and through formal training.

- Develop a network of contacts in many countries around the world and work on international assignments.

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Food Technology or Environmental Science.
