Sonder is an inclusive, not-for-profit organisation that has been providing better quality health and support services to the South Australian community since 1993. We support thousands of people each year to access services across seven key domains – Mental Health, Aboriginal Health, Alcohol and/or other Drugs, Employment, Community Health, Disability, and Homelessness.

Hours: We have both part-time and full-time positions available. Subcontract opportunities can be considered if desired.

Location: This position will operate across all Sonder, Solasta and Nunkuwarrin Yunti locations across metropolitan Adelaide and will be dependent on client needs. Base location can be negotiable.

About The Role

Sonder delivers the Commonwealth funded Closing the Gap Integrated Team Care (CTG ITC) Program. To complement the CTG ITC care coordination service, Sonder has secured funding to deliver culturally safe and appropriate psychological therapy to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community of South Australia.

The Clinical Psychologist will deliver comprehensive assessment and evidence-based therapy services to adults and/or children and young people and their families who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primarily. Sonder's many years of experience in the delivery of mental health services mean that you will receive access to specialist support and supervision, including clearly defined clinical escalation pathways to ensure you feel a valued member as part of a larger care team.

The Clinical Psychologist Key Responsibilities Include

  1. Providing high quality psychological assessments and interventions to children and/or adults with a range of presenting issues including those with disability.
  2. Planning and implementing assessment and clinical intervention services.
  3. Ensuring provision of care is culturally safe.
  4. Liaison and consultation with other professional employees and external services.
  5. Participation in individual supervision, and attendance at team meetings and external meetings.
  6. Ensuring compliance with contractual guidelines.

Experience Requirements

  1. Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
  2. A minimum 5 years' experience providing clinical psychology services in child/adolescents or adult psychology.
  3. Experience in assessing and treating children and/or adults with a range of presenting concerns.
  4. Experience in working with Aboriginal communities and the ability to provide culturally appropriate support.

Qualification And Other Requirements

  1. Drivers Licence.
  2. Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  3. Minimum of a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  4. Medicare provider number for clinical psychology rebate.
  5. Knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft suite of software and databases.
