OHB Italia is seeking for its Satellite and Missions Department in Rome/Torino/ Milano anAOCS & GNC Architect m/f Ref. Sat_AOCS_2026As an AOCS & GNC architect, you will lead and drive the AOCS & GNC activities along the whole project lifecycle, including design, development, integration, verification, launch and in-orbit operations.
This is applicable both for subsystems developed in OHB-I and subsystems contracted to a subcontractor.
You will be actively involved with other projects of the same product line, acting both as a keeper and an innovator of the product technical baseline, by proposing disruptive approaches to optimize the processes, reduce the Total Cost of Ownership and improve the schedule.
Tasks:Technical Lead of AOCS/GNC subsystemsDevelop AOCS/GNC architectures and perform related trade-offsLead the Design and Development of AOCS/GNC subsystemsTechnical management of AOCS/GNC subsystem subcontractorTechnical Support to Procurement of AOCS/GNC equipmentLead the Verification and Validation of AOCS/GNC subsystemsSupport satellite AIT (hands-on) and verification activitiesSupport to satellite proposals and system studies for AOCS/GNC topicsPreparation of technical documentationParticipation to Launch campaignQualificationsEngineering or doctoral degree in aerospace engineering or comparable qualifications and professional experienceExperience in the space business, especially with AOCS/GNC architectures, procurement, design and verification and validation processesStrong knowledge of attitude and orbit dynamics, missions, SW, and AOCS/GNC equipmentExperience in satellite verification, including participation to AIT campaignsGood knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, Office Tools and DOORSExcellent sense of responsibilityStructured hands-on work-approachHighly self-motivated and able to work autonomouslyExcellent problem-solving skillsGood interpersonal skillsCustomer oriented thinking-approachAbility to work in international teamsFluency in spoken and written EnglishAssets:Experience with Deep Space missionsKnowledge of AutocodingThe gross annual remuneration package will be determined based on the degree of alignment between the candidate’s profile and the requirements of the role, as well as the level of professional experience acquired. The salary range is therefore as follows:30,000–60,000
