Warehouse Associate/SEASONAL

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Warehouse Associate will receive incoming donations, and sort and process merchandise according to proper procedure. Duties include maintaining cleanliness of warehouse(s) and surrounding areas, including but not limited to, restrooms, donation sorting areas, storage areas, and grounds.

Responsibilities in the Donation Drop Off area include receiving incoming merchandise and food donations, sorting and processing them for the appropriate places, fostering long-lasting relationships, and educating donors regarding our programs and services.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

1. Maintain a high level of professionalism, including (but not limited to) safety, courtesy, and positive communication; ensure that other staff members do the same.
2. Must be trustworthy, work well in a team environment, and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
3. The ability to work safely and cooperatively in a variety of situations with a variety of team members is essential.
4. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of warehouse(s), sorting area(s), storage container(s), restroom(s), and other surrounding areas; light grounds keeping may be required.
5. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the commercial waste receptacle area, including the breaking down of large unsalable items and placing them neatly into appropriate receptacles.
6. Responsible for the movement of processed and unprocessed donations and other items between warehouses and storage areas.
7. Required to operate heavy equipment; will be trained and certified as needed.
8. Assist warehouse staff with the loading and unloading of donated items, ensuring that they remain undamaged and are placed in the correct position and location.
9. Work closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and assist with daily duties.

Employment Terms:

This is a temporary position with a set end date of April 30, 2025.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: No experience necessary, will train.

Travel Demands: Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime and the ability to work on some holidays.

Confidentiality: Works with confidential information.

Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.

Physical Demands: This position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping for long periods. The employee is required to handle, feel, and/or reach with hands and arms and must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.
