Cyber Security Engineer: Join a collaborative team where you’ll take ownership of securing the organisation’s network infrastructure. In this role, you’ll focus primarily on network security engineering, while also working on SIEM platforms, incident response, and GRC activities (risk, compliance, and security governance).What’s in it for you?Play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s network security posture.Gain hands-on experience across firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, network segmentation, and secure architecture.Develop complementary skills in SIEM monitoring, alert analysis, and security operations.Work with risk assessments, compliance tasks, and wider GRC processes.Work in a supportive environment that offers significant exposure, responsibility, and professional growth.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and segmentation policies.Monitor network security activity and support investigation of events through SIEM and log analysis.Assist with vulnerability management, network-focused penetration testing, and configuration reviews.Automate routine security and network tasks using scripting languages.Support GRC activities, including risk assessments, policy compliance checks, audit preparation, and reporting.Work with IT, Network Engineering, and Security teams to embed secure network practices across projects and operations.Skills / Must Have:Strong knowledge of network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, routing/switching fundamentals).Experience with SIEM platforms and security event analysis.Understanding of application security and common vulnerabilities (OWASP).Background in cryptography and certificate management.Foundational understanding of GRC, including risk assessment and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).Ability to script with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Familiarity with penetration testing and network analysis tools (Nmap, Metasploit, Wireshark).Exposure to incident response and digital forensics.Nice to Have:Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.Clear communication and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of cloud networking and cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure).Awareness of Zero Trust and secure network architecture principles.Desire to continuously learn and grow across both technical and GRC domains.Benefits:Competitive salary package plus benefits (details available upon request).Opportunity to specialise in network security while building rounded experience across SIEM, GRC, and security operations.A collaborative team environment with room for long-term career progression.Ability to make a direct and meaningful impact on the organisation’s security postureSalaryUp to €35,000
