Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.As a PE TPM in our team, you will be responsible for closely monitoring and driving China side activities including DFM, tooling release, process qualification, and material preparation for builds. Working closely with Material Manager (MM), Product Designer (PD), Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE), Tooling Engineer (TE), Global Commodity Manager (GCM), Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) and Reliability Engineer (REL). PE TPM is also responsible for driving suppliers to ensure the schedules on track, issues resolved and quality requirements met.The Role and Major ResponsibilitiesOverall program owner for mechanical components developmentAct as focal point for all Asia side Mechanical Component DevelopmentDrive risk mitigations with Asia based teams and communicate outward to a cross functional audienceMaintain close communication with the US based core team members such as PD, System TPM and ID to ensure issue resolution and scheduleWork closely with Mechanical Process Engineering teams, Tooling Engineering teams, and suppliers to keep tooling and material schedules on trackLead critical issue resolution throughout product development cyclesTravel domestically and internationally to supplier sites and Amazon US as needed to keep project on scheduleDrive and track mechanical material readiness for Engineering buildsLead meetings to keep supplier facing cross functional teams organized and focused throughout design cycleLead meetings to make good sync up between China based teams and US based teamsWork with cross-functionally managing a diverse group of engineering, operations and product management professional proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, tracking risks and issuesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, science or equivalent3+ years of technical product or program management experience5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experienceExperience managing programs across functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExcellent oral and writing communication skillsFamiliar with die-casting and injection processExperience in delivering tight schedule product development by leading cross functional teams and whole supply chainPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in relevant disciplineProficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, managing issues and tracking bugsExperience managing the introduction of new technologiesSolid understanding of product development processStrong understanding of technical requirements for technology integrationExperience leading global engineering teamPMP certifiedExcellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Product Design, Industrial Design, Commodity Management, Quality, Reliability, Compliance and Senior Leadership.Self-starter that can identify issues and craft solutions with minimal guidanceExperienceOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
