Your New Job Job Summary Responsible for the engineering design and drafting of the most cost-effective, accurate and high quality OSP and/or ISP work/fine prints while meeting or exceeding all client deadlines. Design requirements vary by project (client/region/district/job type). Job Responsibilities (Including, But Not Limited To) Work in various customer specific systems to produce a cost-effective engineered design for construction to place, splice, install and maintain for many years to come. Identify assigned fiber/copper pairs at strategic access points and design an aerial and/or underground path from point A to point B. Identify the necessary requirements to successfully attach fiber/copper cables to poles as well as place cables in the underground environments. Engineer in the public right of way and on private property avoiding conflict with existing facilities. Initiate internal work order requests for other departments necessary to complete entire project. Update necessary tracking system(s) to ensure project and/or program status is maintained with complete accuracy, including third party management systems. Communicate all issues to management prior to reaching critical status. Develop and maintain accurate and complete files for projects, monitoring for integrity and completeness. Always meet or exceed internal and external quality standards, and on-time delivery. Other relevant duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications General High school diploma or GED equivalent Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills Superior time management Strong attention to detail Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities Critical thinking skills; make assessments and provide solutions to problems Ability to maintain professional tact in a fast-paced work environment with internal personnel and clients Superior customer service and dedication to providing a positive experience inside and outside the organization GRIT (guts, reliability, innovation and teamwork) Technical Experience working in a Windows environment; Office 365, SharePoint and MS Excel. Knowledge & experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS or client proprietary design systems Knowledge & experience with project management processes, tools, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects with reproducible results Desired Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline preferred Construction experience preferred Field experience preferred Knowledge & experience in telecommunications, outside plant engineering design or field inspection, and/or network construction Knowledge of fiber networking, routing, and network management Knowledge and understanding of various broadband network designs and architecture Levelling An Engineer I, II or III title differentiation lies in the experience and/or skill level of the individual.
