This is an opportunity to partner with teams innovating the way that millions of products are displayed to customers worldwide and key features that help customers make their purchase decisions.The person serving in this role will provide legal guidance on new feature and product development and advise on complex issues, including competition, privacy, and other regulatory matters. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, and enjoy working hard, being challenged, and operating in a team‑oriented environment.Key job responsibilitiesSupport business leaders as lead counsel on new product and feature launchesAdvise on complex issues, including competition, privacy, and other regulatory matters, and litigation strategiesProvide day‑to‑day, customer‑focused adviceWork effectively across business, department, and cross‑functional stakeholdersBasic Qualifications5+ years of legal experienceJuris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalentPreferred QualificationsExperience of a mix of corporate law firm and in‑house workExperience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalentKnowledge of internet, software, and media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate or equivalentBenefitsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
