Engineering Operations Technician

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently hiring for an Engineering Technician to support our data centers. The Engineering Technician will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The role will maintain and troubleshoot mission‑critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment, including stand‑by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries, CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors.ResponsibilitiesSupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, battery system preventive maintenance, and rack PDU/Rack ATS replacements.Perform root cause analysis for operational issues.Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events.Ensure all personnel on‑site follow safety protocols.Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule as needed.Take daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineers.Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization.Physical RequirementsWalk job sites in uneven terrain.Work at heights and from ladders.Regularly lift or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.Carry objects up to 49 pounds for short distances.Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.Respond to off‑hour emergency calls.Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.Basic Qualifications1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years of data center or mission‑critical facilities experience.High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications2+ years of data center engineering experience.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.#J-18808-Ljbffr
