Position
For our Pianoro site, the Group is looking for an Area Manager who will contribute to business development and strengthen the company's presence within its target market.
The selected candidate will join an international, innovative, and highly technological environment operating in the pharmaceutical machinery and solutions industry. This role is key to driving business growth, combining commercial expertise, relationship-building skills, and strategic vision.
Following a structured onboarding and training program at the Group Headquarters and main production facilities, the Area Manager, working closely with the Head of Sales , will gain in-depth knowledge of the company's products, processes, and business dynamics, progressively taking responsibility for the commercial development of the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Achievement of Sales Targets
- Manage and develop the sales of pharmaceutical processing and packaging machinery and solutions within the assigned territory.
- Translate company revenue and profitability targets into effective commercial action plans.
- Continuously monitor sales performance and propose corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales in updating sales forecasts and analyzing business results.
- Ensure compliance with the Group's commercial policies.
Customer Relationship Management and Development
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from identifying customer needs to negotiating and closing commercial agreements.
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with customers, partners, and distributors.
- Provide technical and commercial support, identifying the most suitable solutions to meet customers' production and regulatory requirements.
- Manage complex negotiations and commercial discussions, contributing to the establishment of strategic partnerships.
- Maintain a strong field presence through regular customer visits and consultancy activities.
- Promote customer loyalty and gather valuable feedback to support the continuous improvement of products and services.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, and Customer Care teams to define the best technical and commercial solutions.
- Assess the feasibility of commercial proposals by involving the relevant technical and production departments.
- Ensure effective management of sales opportunities through the company's CRM tools.
- Facilitate coordination among the various functions involved in both the sales and after-sales processes.
- Share strategic information regarding customers, markets, and business opportunities with management.
Market Development and New Business Opportunities
- Identify new business opportunities and acquire new customers within the assigned territory.
- Promote cross-selling and up-selling activities within the existing customer portfolio.
- Monitor market developments, technological trends, and competitor activities.
- Participate in trade fairs, industry events, and networking initiatives to expand business relationships and strengthen the Group's market presence.
- Contribute to the definition of commercial strategies by sharing market insights and field intelligence.
Requirements
Candidate Profile
We are seeking professionals with a strong consultative sales approach, results orientation, and the ability to build solid and long-lasting customer relationships.
The following qualifications are considered advantageous:
- Experience in B2B sales roles , preferably within industrial, plant engineering, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and strategic accounts.
