Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Junior Mechanical Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate performs a wide range of tasks within the Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA , Italy. Accountabilities Carry out 3D mechanical integration analysis of all train components with creation of dedicated reports Manage and develop mechanical systems through the SRD, supplier onboarding, and codesign process Manage the full train digital mock in 3D CAD software Develop tolerance stack‑up analysis and management plan to guarantee correct component mechanical integration on the train Create full train assembly drawings for train manufacturing Design mechanical components such as welded frames or brackets for overall systems integration Competencies (optional) 3D CAD software knowledge, especially Creo, Catia, and Autodesk Knowledge of DOORS for requirement management Knowledge of main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.) Required Skills / Knowledge Autonomous ability to deliver short‑term results Capability to work with fast‑changing priorities in a dynamic environment Strong team‑working attitude and ability to collaborate with international colleagues and senior design experts Desired Skills / Knowledge General knowledge of railway vehicle working principles Passion for the railway industry Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for rail vehicle design Knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations Availability for short‑term national and international business trips is preferred Education / Qualifications Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical background Languages Good knowledge of written and spoken English, at least international B2 level At Hitachi Rail, there is a place for everyone.
