We are seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer with a background in the defense or military sector to join a multidisciplinary team engaged in the development of complex systems for automotive and defense applications. Location: Piacenza, Italy. Key Responsibilities Define and implement System Safety processes according to MIL-STD-882E and IEC 61508 standards; Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Prepare technical safety documentation, including the System Safety Program Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, and Safety Assessment Report; Support design activities in compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; Collaborate with hardware and software development teams to ensure compliance with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity (UNECE R155) standards; Manage technical interfaces with customers, certification bodies, and suppliers; Participate in the verification and validation of implemented safety measures. Requirements Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or equivalent); Minimum 2 years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or in a similar role within the defense or automotive industry; In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations: MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, UNECE R155; Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC Proven experience conducting safety analyses (HARA, FMECA, FTA); Good command of technical English (German knowledge is a plus).
