Here, the Expansion Project Team, carried out by the company Logistica Giuliana, is planning and executing a game changer phased project aiming to integrate the current facility into a fully automated state-of-the-art container terminal, making use of the most advanced technologies and expertise.The Automation & IT Expert owns a part of the total automation solution from conceptualization to implementation.They review the operational flows and follows the Automation & IT requirements in close coordination with the Operations Implementation Team, the Safety team and the Asset team. They support documenting the solutions from a conceptual level down to the detailed technical solution that can be implemented. This implementation will be in close collaboration with the external equipment supplier and the internal teams. The Automation& IT Expert is a problem solver and collaborator across the project team gathering and sharing information.### What you can expect* Derive from the automation concept the technical solutions that will support the business/operations* Be a part of the solution of the automation & IT requirements for all operational flows* Project support automation topics or automated areas* Liaise with internal & external stakeholders* Apply best practices in terms of automation, IT & safety* Forecast problem areas and provide solutions* Share requirements with the Asset team* Interface with the HHLA PLT Italy existing IT and automation* Comply with all the safety and security rules and regulations lead by example* Support the department and business unit where required* Follow the corporate authority matrix, contract policies compliance guidelines* Actively report improvement opportunities to direct report### What you bring to the tableWe’re looking for an accurate and process minded individual who can translate an automation concept into implemented solutions. The person would have a high sense of responsibility as the role is vital to ensure we meet our operational goals in line with our OPEX & CAPEX targets.* Good English (Italian is a plus)* Experience (5+ year(s)) in automation/IT (port experience highly valued but not mandatory)* Experience (5+ year(s)) in building processes and delivering automation projects* Thorough understanding safety in automated environment (experience with the Italian legal environment & EU machinery directive highly valued)* Strong problem solver – both in terms of technical solution as in collaborating with others* Ability to work in agile environment* Self-starter with the ability to translate high level concepts into technical solutions* Process & logic driven mentality* Degree in Engineering/IT/Automation otherThe ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to relocate to Trieste in short notice.As an international logistics company with its roots in Hamburg, HHLA stands for cosmopolitanism and tolerance.
