This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services, ensuring the data center’s MEP operates at 100% availability while delivering best‑in‑class customer service to teams and groups within the data centers.Key Job ResponsibilitiesOversee day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.Operate independently with limited direct management.Act as an escalation point for all facility‑related issues, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed, and work overtime as required to support site stability.Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.Troubleshoot and report facility and data‑center‑level events within internal SLA.Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows.Communicate complex technical information to a non‑technical audience.Physical RequirementsWalk job sites in uneven terrain.Work at heights and from ladders.Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.>Perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.Push or pull heavy objects into position.Work in a noisy environment.Work at depths, such as under raised floors.A Day in the LifeEnsuring all maintenance activities completed overnight were correct. Checking for any compliance issues with maintenance activities scheduled or completed. Updating trouble tickets in our tracking program. Setting up vendors for access and scheduling them for work. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge‑sharing, mentorship and other career‑advancing resources here to help you develop into a better‑rounded professional.Basic Qualifications3+ years of vendor management experience.4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of construction or project management experience.Electrical or mechanical Journeyman licence.Operating engineering licence such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.Experience in construction or project management.Ability to manage small‑to‑medium impacting projects from conception to completion.Strong collaboration skills with engineering, automation, processing, and finance teams.Security and Citizenship Requirements: Candidate must be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.Compensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is USD 96,000.00 – 166,300.00 annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
