A deep-tech company developing room-temperature photonic quantum computers is seeking a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to join their growing PIC design team.This is a hands‑on design role focused on the development of complex integrated photonic architectures. You’ll be involved in everything from component‑level design through to full tape‑out, contributing to both internal design methodologies and external collaborations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimisation of integrated photonic componentsEM and circuit‑level simulations using Lumerical (FDTD / EME / INTERCONNECT)Layout, mask design, photonic routing, and DRC verificationPreparation of full tape‑out documentation and mask reviewsInterface with foundries and collaborate with partnersContribute to internal design library and workflow improvementsRequirements3+ years hands‑on PIC design experience with at least 1 completed tape‑outMaster’s degree or PhD in Photonics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or similarStrong grasp of photonic component design from first principlesProficient with GDS‑based workflows, Klayout, and Python‑based PIC design automationFluent in EnglishDesirableExperience with optical/electrical characterisation and testingFamiliarity with thin‑film Lithium Niobate or heterogeneous integrationUnderstanding of optical manufacturing processesPython for data analysis or measurement automationKnowledge of quantum photonics and integrated quantum opticsWhat’s OfferedPermanent full‑time contractHybrid working (remote possible)Direct impact on next‑generation PIC designs and photonic architecturesCollaborative, research‑driven environmentIf you’re ready to work on cutting‑edge photonics in a team shaping the future of quantum computing, apply now with your CV and a brief cover note.#J-18808-Ljbffr
