Position Summary

We're looking for a Customer Solution Engineer - Compact Powertrain Solutions for Arco (TN) or Reggio Emilia Location.

As core assignment, the employee will be responsible for selecting the complete powertrain (electric motor and inverter, gearbox, axles) for Off Highway applications based on customer needs and requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Customer technical interface: he/she is the main (single) technical interface with the customer. He/she is the customer technical reference during the development of new projects, answers customer questions and leads the problem solving.
  2. Application analysis: starting from the customer requirements, the application knowledge and the customer needs, identifies, calculates and selects the best technical solution(s) to be offered to the customer. Manages the technical presentations to the customer and interacts with Sales and Product Management functions.
  3. Powertrain solutions: in case of powertrain systems (e.g. multiple and interconnected HW and SW elements), he/she is responsible to collect and manage the customer requirements, communicate the requirements to the Product and System Engineering and verify the requirements are met on the final machine.
  4. Continuous improvement: contributes to improve the calculation tools, the processes, the documentation, the vehicle and application knowledge.
  5. Mission Profile: gathers (via experimental tests) and analyses mission profile data to support the accurate selection of the power distribution system.
  6. Customer visits: attends meetings at customer site and machine check-out. If needed, especially for high complexity/priority projects, he/she attends testing, commissioning, and development activities at the customer premises. In rare cases, the presence at the customer site may be on a weekly basis for some weeks.
Job Position Requirements

Education: University master degree - Mechatronics, Mechanical, Control Systems, Electronics

Professional background
  1. 2+ years of experience as application engineer for electric powertrain components or diversified experience in design, development engineering, or applications engineering as related to the off-highway, drivetrain/powertrain, or related mechanical industry
  2. Experience in multinational companies
Hard skills

Essential:

  1. Demonstrated Technical acumen
  2. At ease with sizing and calculation principles
  3. Capable of reading technical drawings and specifications of powertrain components
  4. Fluent in business and technical English

Considered as a plus:

  1. Experience in the OH sector, Knowledge of Off-Highway applications, standards & regulations
  2. Experience with OH electric motors and inverters, transmissions, axles
  3. Experience as test engineer, field engineer
  4. Knowledge of Matlab
  5. Knowledge of Polarion
  6. Knowledge of CREO
  7. Experience in international team management
  8. Multi-lingual: Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, and/or German
Soft Skills
  1. Pro-active and dynamic mindset
  2. Strong communication skills, including customer presentations, project review meetings and status reports
  3. Able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, having excellent interpersonal skills, team builder
  4. Strong organizational skills capable of handling multiple priorities under pressing deadlines
