ThinkQuantum is a leading company located in Padua, Italy, focused on quantum technologies applied to cybersecurity and communication. We develop Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Numbers Generation (QRNG) devices for industries in both ground and space domains, collaborating with the European Space Agency and the European Commission to enhance global information security. Position FPGA Engineer (Full‑time, Associate level) Responsibilities In this role you will: Design, develop, and validate advanced communication devices based on fiber and free‑space technologies. Support system architecture design and participate in validation processes to meet performance and reliability requirements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive innovation in quantum communication technologies. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics). Minimum 3 years of experience in FPGA design and development. Strong proficiency in VHDL. Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado). Experience in simulation and verification (testbenches, functional verification). Ability to support FPGA bring‑up, debugging, and validation on hardware. Basic scripting skills for automation and testing (Python, TCL). Proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high‑speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, LVDS, SERDES). Knowledge of signal processing or data‑path architectures. Familiarity with system‑level integration and co‑design (FPGA + software). Knowledge of fiber and free‑space communication systems. Exposure to quantum communication or advanced photonics systems.
