Join the Worldwide Grocery Store Tech (WWGST) Checkout Engineering team Our vision is to be the most loved grocer on earth, saving customers time and money.We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE II) who will help us deliver seamless and efficient checkout experiences for our global grocery business, focusing on Point of Sale and Self-Checkout systems. As part of our team, you'll work in an agile environment to build and enhance innovative solutions that directly impact the customer shopping experience at Amazon grocery. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Amazon's high-growth grocery business.A day in the lifeLead software development and deployment lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing, and operationsWork closely with business and technical teams to analyze complex business problemsDevelop creative solutions while maintaining attention to detailContribute to architecture and design of new and existing systemsEnsure high standards throughout the development processBasic Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming languageKnowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellenceBachelor's degree or equivalentPreferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
