And that’s where you come in. Job Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Buyer for electronic components who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Tito (PZ), Italy . >Accountabilities Procure materials that are becoming obsolete (through LTB) or already obsolete (through brokers) working daily with the technical department to prevent lack of components on strategic products. Scout the worldwide market. Stay updated on market trends, pricing variations, and industry practices to inform strategic procurement decisions. Identify, select and manage suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, and delivery considerations. Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with vendors and suppliers to secure favourable and optimised conditions. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and vendors. Process orders, monitor delivery dates and perform follow‑ups to ensure products and services meet required standards, maintaining records. Resolve issues and disputes regarding delivery, price discrepancies, quality or other concerns. Assist in preparing reports, documents and master data maintenance. Ensure proper documentation, record keeping, filing of purchase orders, invoices, and other related documents. Required skills/Knowledge 2–5 years’ purchasing experience in the electronics components field. Expertise with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and aptitude for learning new software and systems. Knowledge of the electronic and mechanical materials field. Excellent communication skills. Flexible team player willing to adapt to change. Proven analytical ability. Material costing and price structure analysis. Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, able to prioritise multiple requests. Strong conflict resolution skills with suppliers and vendors. Excellent decision‑making, critical thinking and negotiation skills. ERP software knowledge preferred.
