At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.Position SummaryThe Buyer I will be responsible to handle the purchasing activities in compliance with company procedures. Main responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, tracking shipments, creating and maintaining adequate inventory levels and liaising with inventory teams and manufacturing to minimize stock out and supply chain risks. The Buyer I will work closely with other departments to support the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand and production schedule.DutiesProcess purchase orders and follow up deliveriesSource for new potential suppliers and negotiate ratesMonitor inventories and ensure they are kept at appropriate levelsMaintain and update supplier vendor listWork towards department KPI’sWork closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, R&D, Regulatory as requiredBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersTroubleshoot all issues that may occur at any stage of the procurement processContract managementEducation & ExperienceEducation Degree: Bachelor's Degree in EconomicsRequired Experience & Competencies:Proactivity, critical thinking, problem solving skillsTeam work approachGood IT skills (Microsoft Office365 suite), Excel skills such as Pivot Tables, Power Query are a plus.Knowledge of Oracle would be a plusGood English written and spoken2 year working experience, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain or OperationsThis position requires knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties involved, including regular communications outside the province of Quebec, training, email communications, and frequent meetings and interactions with English- only employees.
