Software Development Engineer, Amazon Flex Amazon’s Last Mile Technology has the operational focus of providing new and different technologies to solve challenges in the last mile delivery space. We want to ensure a top-in-class customer experience from the time a customer places an order on Amazon.com to the time it lands in the customer’s hands. Amazon Flex aims to delight customers by delivering millions of packages faster than ever before. You can find out more about Amazon Flex at flex.amazon.com. You will own software in all phases of the software life-cycle from architecture and design through deployment and release.

You will learn about Amazon’s logistics network, interact with other teams to build optimized systems, and have autonomy to deliver software which impacts multiple delivery provider programs. Key job responsibilities Design and develop scalable software solutions ensuring high performance and reliability Contribute significantly to the full software development lifecycle including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance while demonstrating operational excellence Solve complex, previously unsolved challenges in retail environments by applying strong technical design skills and creating innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience Actively participate in the code review process, providing meaningful feedback to team members and ensuring high-quality software development standards Collaborate Sr Engineers, Product Managers and Engineering Managers to develop Last Mile tech solutions Demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communication and independently deliver quality results in a fast paced environment Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
