Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Engineering Operations Technician Trainees to join our expanding Data Center team in Abu Dhabi. Duration: 6 months, full-time (40 hours / week). The programme provides exposure to the skills required for a future full-time Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role. Key job responsibilities Assist in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment. Support root cause analysis of equipment failures. Help troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs. Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment. Use our internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage workflows. Work alongside third‑party vendors and contractors on site. Work with equipment that supports mission‑critical servers, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. Physical Requirements Working at heights and from ladders. Regularly lifting / moving up to 22kg (49lbs) unassisted, and participating in group lifts for heavier loads. Using hands to handle and manipulate small tools, wires, and objects. Basic Qualifications UAE National with family book. Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering). Or recently graduated from a Technical / Trade school programme (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar). Preferred Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills.
