RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Class B & Metro Systems Safety Assessment Senior Assessor to join its office in Rome, Italy within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.MissionThe Railway Signalling Senior Safety Assessor plays a role focusing on delivering comprehensive safety assessment activities in the Metro and railway signalling domain. This role involves meticulous execution of assessments and reporting to ensure compliance with stringent safety standards, contributing to the reliability and safety of railway projects both in Italy and internationally.As a valued member of the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) teams, the successful candidate will engage with embedded trackside and onboard signalling systems, ensuring robust evaluation under CENELEC standards EN50126, EN50128, and EN50129. This mission supports RINA's commitment to safety excellence and continuous improvement within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification division. #LI-DC2Key AccountabilitiesAssessment ActivitiesPerform assessment activities related to projects in the Railway domain, ensuring thorough evaluation and compliance with industry standards.Client InteractionAct as the main point of contact for clients, leading meetings with clients and the assessment team to understand project requirements and expectations.Delivery AssuranceEnsure the timely and successful delivery of assessment and verification plans, actively supporting projects to achieve satisfactory results.Knowledge SharingMentor and share knowledge with Assessors, contributing to their professional development and growth.Compliance and StandardsConduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.Client Feedback AnalysisMake recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in the continuous improvement of service delivery.Project ManagementUndertake project management activities, where applicable, including monitoring the progress of projects and ensuring their successful completion.Design VerificationDesign verification according to reference standards, conducting structural checks, and ensuring completeness checks on the quality system documentation.EducationMaster’s Degree in Electronic / TLC Engineering or Computer ScienceQualificationsAt least 2-5 years of experience in conducting assessments, validation activities, and audits within the railway environment.Strong background in railway systems design, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on compliance and regulatory standards.Proven track record of preparing and executing detailed assessment reports in alignment with industry standards and organizational requirements.Experience with safety management systems (SMS) and quality assurance practices within the railway sector is preferred.In-depth knowledge of railway regulations, standards, and certification processes (in particular CENELEC Safety standard EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129).Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures related to railway systems and operations.Ability to evaluate and assess technical systems, infrastructure, and operational processes within the railway industry.Proficiency in report writing and presenting complex technical information in a clear and structured manner.Knowledge of risk management, compliance assessment, and performance evaluation in the context of railway operations.CompetenciesADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective wayBUILD NETWORK - Forge trust relationships, across departments, and outside the organizationCLIENT INTIMACY - Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfactionEARN TRUST - Take everyone’s opinion into
