OverviewOur Client is looking for FPGA Design Engineers to work in their Research and Development Department, which is actively involved in the field of optical communications for satellite applications, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).The candidates will support the design, realisation and operation of a new test-facility aiming at assessing and certifying the interoperability of Optical Communication Terminal Payloads.ResponsibilitiesDesign and validate High-Speed Modems and DSP blocks (> 100 Gb/s)Conduct test-campaigns following relevant standardsActive participation in international standardisation committeesQualifications and ExperienceStrong passion for the development of new technologiesDegree in Telecommunication Engineering or Computer ScienceKnowledge of High-Speed Serial-Transceiver Designs in FPGAPhD in relevant fields is appreciated, but not mandatory“Problem Solving” attitude, autonomy and “pro-activity”Willingness to learn new tools and methodologiesLocationThese are full time permanent positions in Livorno, Italy.
