With a workforce of over 3.300 professionals across its offices in Europe and around the world, Telespazio operates an international network of Space Centres and Teleports, offering cutting-edge solutions in Geoinformation Services, Satellite Systems and Operations, and Satellite Communications.Join us as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Space.Inside the Technology & Innovation - New Mission Design Area in Rome, we are looking for a Space Mission Designer & Developer.The selected candidate will be included in the Telespazio Technology & Innovation team responsible for the following main activities:Analysis, Design and Modelling of Innovative Space MissionsTrade-offs between promising space technologies applicable to the missions of interestSimulation and Proof of Concepts of the innovative space solutionsAR/VR/MR Interactive SimulationsSupport to the End2End system developmentDegree and Seniority:Degree/PhD in Telecommunication or Aerospace engineering – IntermediateTechnical skills and IT tools:RF Payload Architecture: deep understanding of transponders, High Power Amplifiers (TWTA/SSPA), frequency converters, and complex antenna systems (e.g., Active Phased Arrays and Beamforming) relevant to satellite, spacecraft and ground terminalsLink Budget Analysis: Mastery of calculating the Eb/N0 considering atmospheric loss, rain fade, and cosmic interferenceStandards & Protocols: Expertise in DVB-S2X for high-throughput data, CCSDS and SDA protocols for ESA/NASA missionsModulation & Coding: knowledge of advanced schemes like 16APSK/32APSK and error correction (LDPC, Turbo Codes)Optical Communications: knowledge in design of Inter-Satellite Links (ISL) and Optical Ground Stations (OGS) for LEO/GEO constellations and Moon/Mars communications.Solid programming capability in Python and MATLABAdditional preferred technical skills are:Knowledge of orbital mechanics for mission analysis and design of space missions and experience with tools for trajectory design and mission simulation (e.g. STK / GMAT).Knowledge of the System Engineering & Model-Based System Engineering approaches to apply along project life-cycle, from requirement management, architecture and design definition to development and verification/validation activitiesInterest in AR/VR/MR technologies for the development of immersive simulations, training tools, or interactive system visualizationsProblem-SolvingAdaptability & FlexibilityTime Management & OrganizationInterpersonal SkillsGood knowledge of the English language is required.Availability for business trips, if necessary.What We Offer:A stimulating and dynamic working environment with flexible working hoursHybrid working (onsite and off-site)Meal voucher, company canteen and employee welfare programsFree access to online learning platform with courses from top universitiesOpportunities for international experiencesWhy Telespazio: At Telespazio, the well-being, safety, and development of our people are at the heart of our corporate culture.
