AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. The position’s responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise‑class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS’s vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with participation in primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed Work in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Key Job Responsibilities Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided. A Day in the Life Providing the first‑level networking devices to serve our customer racks entails various tasks: tracking network rack intake and delivery; working with various onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling; and partnering with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You’ll also be working on link and device troubleshooting within a certain Service‑Level Agreement. Console builds (and room builds) that are really exciting. You’ll be exposed to more teams whose goal is to provide more space and capacity for customer racks. Work with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices. Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent diploma 1+ years of technical work with computer systems and technology components experience, or experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment Knowledge of information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices Data center experience, industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
