The right candidate will play a key role in the design and development of our next generation Ethernet switching platforms for our world‑class data centers.You will have previous experience testing network products, including reviewing designs for testability, developing manufacturing test plans, executing them, troubleshooting issues found during early prototype stages and transition to manufacturing. You should be passionate about the role testing plays in achieving product reliability and quality. Applying skills in developing new test processes, test automation and debug is expected.Key job responsibilitiesDevelop and implement detailed validation plans tailored to specific hardware designsCollaborate with design and production teams to understand and test against product requirementsAnalyze and interpret data from validation tests, offering insights and recommendationsDesign and document validation processes, findings, and insights in a structured and clear mannerComponent specification study and component validationOversee and plan the use of validation equipment to guarantee consistent resultsWork cross‑functionally to troubleshoot and address any hardware issues identified during validationSecond source qualification, cost‑down design validation and manufacturing efficienciesSupport new product introduction and sustaining engineeringDevelop and contribute in testing automationA day in the lifeOn an everyday basis as part of our team, you have the unique opportunity to understand the growing AWS network and our internal customers’ requirement on interconnect solutions. We work closely with our internal partners that design, build, and operate the network to ensure that our solutions meet their needs and exceed their expectations.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering5+ years experience of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systemsExperience performing PCB schematic and layout reviews to ensure specification complianceKnowledge of power and thermal design and validationExperience performing hardware validation, including high‑speed I/O, low‑speed I/O, voltage regulator and evaluating resultsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering or equivalentExperience with building datacenter networking productsExperience with test strategy design for automated functional and system testingExperience using scripting languages, such as PythonUnderstanding of electrical engineering design principles, transmission‑line theory, SI/PI analysis, PCB PDN design, and high‑speed circuit designsExperience using high‑speed logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, TDR/VNAs, power meters, etc.Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to productionAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,700 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $219,900 per year in our highest geographic market.
