Tasks and Qualifications

Main Job Objectives

  • Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting/exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
  • Commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user.
  • Produce commissioning documentation including, but not limited to, commissioning checklists, test specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
  • Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant with the Machinery Directive.
  • Commission Safety Related Part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204 etc.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational background in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimum.
  • Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical commissioning.
  • Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
  • Good understanding of bus systems.
  • Understanding of distributed control systems desirable, not essential.
  • Understanding of automated warehouse desirable, not essential.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for up to 80% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role.
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.

Special Conditions

  • Role will require 80% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region, including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
