Offer Description
FIBERLoop is an industrial research project focused on the recovery and valorisation of man-made mineral fibres (MMMF), particularly glass wool and rock wool, from construction waste. The project aims to transform them into higher-value secondary materials for use as Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM), through mechanical pre-treatment, hydrothermal treatment, biodegradation of phenolic resins, micronisation and characterisation, followed by validation in cementitious products. The UNIBZ research contractor shall make use of applied microbiology and the biodegradation of complex matrices, select and characterise microbial consortia, design and optimise experimental tests, analyse biological and hydrothermal processes, process data and carry out scale-up activities. The research contractor should also collaborate in interdisciplinary contexts and be responsible for the scientific documentation of the research activities... (see call)
