Logistics Italy Operations Lead - SKF Automotive Business

As Logistics Italy Operations Lead, you will lead the local operational activities related to the transition to the new Automotive business setup in Italy, while ensuring effective and compliant logistics operations. Working closely with local and international stakeholders, you will support the implementation of the Automotive logistics strategy, coordinate key operational milestones, and contribute to the successful execution of the transformation.

Key responsibilities Transformation & Operating Model:
  • Lead the local operational work package for the transition to the new Automotive business setup.
  • Coordinate implementation of the future operating model, including processes, roles, interfaces, governance routines, and ways of working.
  • Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and decision needs, and ensure clear action plans and follow-up with accountable stakeholders.
Project Governance & Stakeholder Alignment:
  • Create structure, transparency, and execution discipline across transformation activities.
  • Prepare and facilitate project meetings, reviews, decision forums, status reporting, and timely escalation of blockers.
  • Act as a coordination point between local operations, regional and global functions, sponsors, and transformation stakeholders.
Operational Leadership & Performance:
  • Lead, guide, and develop the operational logistics team, ensuring effective workforce planning and shopfloor leadership.
  • Secure reliable logistics execution across receiving, storage, picking, packing, loading, and internal plant transport.
  • Monitor operational performance, analyze deviations, define countermeasures, and follow up on sustainable improvements.
Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement:
  • Ensure compliance with quality procedures, inventory governance, audit requirements, safety standards, and workplace discipline.
  • Drive root cause analysis and structured problem solving for quality, inventory, process, and operational deviations.
  • Promote Lean Management, continuous improvement, and business readiness to strengthen stability, productivity, and team adoption of new ways of working.
Requirements
  • Experience in logistics operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial business processes, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in people leadership, workforce planning, shopfloor management, and operational performance follow-up.
  • Experience in project management, transformation, operating model implementation, change management, or comparable cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong ability to structure complex topics into clear plans, milestones, governance routines, and actionable follow-up.
  • Proven ability to coordinate people and stakeholders across functions, countries, and organizational levels.
  • Good understanding of quality, inventory governance, safety, Lean Management, and continuous improvement in operational environments.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to create alignment and influence across different stakeholder groups.
  • Structured and analytical mindset, with experience in risk management, dependency tracking, problem solving, and progress reporting.
  • A hands-on, resilient, and pragmatic way of working, with high accountability and the ability to keep momentum in a changing environment.
  • Fluency in Italian and English is expected.

This position will be located at Airasca. In the initial phase, the role will combine operational leadership with a strong focus on the transformation project and the transition toward the new Automotive operating model, working closely wi
