Global Customer Support division is responsible for Kongsberg Maritime's services, upgrades and support in the aftermarket. Our 2300 employees are present in 35 different countries around the world. During the operational lifetime of more than 30,000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades and spare parts in order to secure availability and predictability to our customers.

The position
An exciting opportunity has arisen as Field Service Engineer – Mechanical Systems. In this role, you will be a part of the Global Customer Support’s Service Delivery Team, and report to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for performing installation and commissioning activities of Kongsberg’s Propulsion & Engines Systems on our customers’ vessels and at major shipyards around the world, as well as providing in-house technical support to our customers. If you have technical qualifications in mechanical systems and can identify with our values of being determined, innovative, collaborative, and reliable, then you are the candidate we are looking for.

Key accountabilities
• Inspection, repair and troubleshooting of propulsion products (mechanical) in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
• Support handling technical inquiries together with Technical Support & Engineering department.
• Continuous improvement and development of the process related to the commissioning, repairs, and overhauls of products.
• Documentation and reporting.

Qualifications and experience
• Competence with mechanical and/or hydraulic systems.
• General good computer skills.
• Proficient written and oral skills in English.
• Ready and motivated for world-wide support activities.
• Knowledge of and experience with Kongsberg Maritime products is an advantage.
