Learn more at Job Function: Supply Chain Engineering Job Sub Function: Project Engineering Job Category: Scientific/Technology All Job Posting Locations: Latina, Italy Job Description: The Project Engineer will support the design, delivery and handover of capital projects, new production machinery for the formulation area of the manufacturing site. Working within cross-functional teams, you will apply current technological best practices to ensure projects meet technical, safety, quality and budgetary requirements. This role is expected to operate with autonomy on medium‑complexity projects while escalating larger or high‑risk decisions to senior staff. Key Responsibilities Propose technical solutions and preliminary concepts for new plants, production machinery for formulation area aligned with site needs and company best practices. Contribute inputs to the annual CAPEX process: identify investment needs, prepare justifications and cost estimates for equipment, tools and facility upgrades. Support the preparation of detailed project documentation and feasibility assessments, including basic economic evaluation for assigned projects. Create and maintain detailed end‑to‑end project plans for assigned projects with clear visibility on resource commitments and cash flow; update plans regularly. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Planning, Quality, Regulatory, MSAT, Maintenance) to prepare for installation, commissioning and qualification (C&Q/CSV) activities. Assist in the development of User Requirement Specifications (URS), participate in supplier selection, support purchase order execution and perform acceptance testing with vendors (physical or documentary). Supervise and coordinate work performed by external contractors on‑site; report deviations and support corrective actions under guidance of senior engineers. Ensure health & safety requirements for temporary and mobile construction sites are followed during project execution. Consider energy efficiency and sustainability aspects in project work and propose practical improvements aligned with site policies. Support hypercare and post‑commissioning activities: follow up with vendors and assist in resolving issues during initial production runs. Participate in documented investigations of deviations from standard practices and procedures; implement corrective actions as assigned. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical, or equivalent). Approximately 3 years of relevant experience in capital projects, plant engineering or equipment integration within a manufacturing environment. Practical experience (or exposure) with URS definition, supplier management, installation support, commissioning and handover activities. Basic understanding of regulatory, quality and safety requirements applicable to manufacturing sites; familiarity with C&Q or CSV processes is a plus. Solid technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical and automation systems relevant to production equipment and utilities. Good project planning and organizational skills; able to maintain project schedules and track milestones. Financial awareness for CAPEX evaluation, budgeting support and cost control for assigned projects. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate cross‑functional activities and interact with suppliers and contractors. Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints. Commitment to safety, compliance and sustainability principles. Proactive, able to work independently on medium‑complexity tasks and know when to elevate. Preferred Formal training or certification in project management (e.g., foundational PMP/Prince2 training) or in C&Q/CSV methodologies. Experience in regulated industries (pharmaceuticals, life sciences, food) and exposure to interactions with local authorities for technical‑administrative approvals. Reporting & Interfaces Reports to Site Project execution Lead Frequent interfaces: Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, Regulatory, MSAT, Procurement, external suppliers and contractors. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Delivery of assigned projects on schedule and within approved budget parameters. Quality and completeness of project documentation, URS and risk assessments. Successful completion of installation, commissioning and qualification activities with minimal issues. Adherence to safety and contractor management requirements.
