ABOUT THIS ROLE Reporting to the Head of Legal, People and Places, based in Newark, NJ; expected to work from the office 5 days per week. Travel on an as‑needed basis and willingness to work extended hours when necessary. Providing day‑to‑day legal input on business and strategy, serving as primary legal support. Developing creative, business‑centric strategies for handling legal issues. Managing commercial litigation and government agency investigations. Drafting and evaluating agreements for original audio content production, including rights acquisition, content creation, music licensing, production, performance, and distribution agreements. Acting as production counsel for new productions, collaborating closely with producers and production personnel to address time‑sensitive inquiries and ensure timely and cost‑effective productions. Coordinating and communicating with business affairs, finance, legal, and other departments at Audible/Amazon to ensure appropriate handling and escalation of issues, and providing advice on international and localization matters for original content. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of legal experience. Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent. Experience as a transactional or litigation attorney. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Privacy Law. 1+ year of experience with a leading national or international law firm focusing on audio content, IP or Compliance. A mix of transactional, marketing, consumer protection, and other regulatory experience. Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross‑functional teams. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines. Proven written and oral communication skills. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
