Systems Validation Manager, Annapurna Labs

Annapurna Labs, part of AWS UC, designs silicon and software that accelerates innovation. Our custom chips, accelerators, and software stacks let us tackle technology challenges that were unimaginable just a short time ago. We lead the industry in hardware/software co‑design, delivering machine learning boards and servers that power AWS data centers. Key ResponsibilitiesValidate chip and system architecture for the next generation Machine Learning Acceleration (MLA) product family. Develop in‑depth validation plans, execute them, debug issues, and take the product to successful production ramp. Work closely with design, software, and architecture teams to achieve performance goals, identify bottlenecks, and resolve them. Scale and manage a team of System Validation Engineers. Architect validation strategies and develop methodologies and infrastructures for validating neural networks. Evaluate and improve performance of Machine Learning systems. Coordinate with functional teams to ensure delivery of high‑quality systems to AWS data centers. Own validation schedules and report progress metrics. Provide technical mentoring for the team. Basic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience. 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams. 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling). 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services. Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns throughout the full software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live‑site operations. Experience partnering with product or program management teams. Preferred QualificationsExperience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy. Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
