Offer DescriptionThe post‑doctoral position will be dedicated to the conceptual design, development, and experimental characterization of PHPs, including the definition of geometries, selection of working fluids and materials, design of experimental test rigs, and measurement of thermal performance, both under normal gravity and, where applicable, in microgravity environments. Particular attention will be devoted to start‑up behavior, thermal resistance, operational limits, and the experimental validation of innovative PHP concepts.ResponsibilitiesConceptual design of PHPs and associated experimental rigs.Development and selection of fluids, materials, and geometries.Experimental characterization of thermal performance under normal and microgravity conditions.Analysis of start‑up behavior, thermal resistance, and operational limits.Experimental validation of innovative PHP concepts.EligibilityIn possession, on the application deadline, of a research doctorate (PhD) or equivalent qualification obtained abroad, or a medical specialization qualification (for relevant sectors).Educational qualification must concern the research theme.QualificationsScientific maturity, strong motivation, and ability to integrate theoretical training with experimental and numerical applications.Experience in heat transfer, thermo‑fluid dynamics, and heat pipe technologies, especially Pulsating Heat Pipes (PHPs).Demonstrated experience in high‑efficiency passive systems, including research and design activities in national and international contexts.Clear aptitude for innovation, teamwork, and analysis of complex multiphase and transient phenomena.Experience in research and development groups and multidisciplinary projects.Master’s or PhD thesis work strongly oriented toward experimental research and numerical modeling of heat and mass transfer processes (boiling, condensation, pulsating flows), including space‑sector applications.Solid computational and numerical simulation skills.Organizational and communication abilities, possibly acquired through tutoring activities and teaching support.Selection ProcessThe application for admission to the selection procedure must be submitted electronically, including all required documents and publications.
