Senior Big Data Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer Join to apply for the Senior Big Data Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer role at UniCredit. We are looking for a Data/ML Engineer with a strong background in Databricks or Palantir Foundry to join our Predictive AI solutions team. You will be responsible for E2E applications development and maintenance leveraging Machine Learning and Big Data transformations. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems, leveraging cutting‑edge Big Data technologies to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency. You will collaborate in a dynamic and innovative context in close collaboration with Data Scientists and Data Analysts. What you can expect from us Design and develop predictive AI solutions by applying advanced ML and big data techniques. Define data architectures and pipelines to support scalable AI solutions. Train, evaluate, and optimize Machine Learning models for real‑world applications. Develop and maintain centralized AI assets, including feature stores and shared libraries. Integrate and manage ML solutions within our MLOps framework for seamless deployment. Adopt the squad service model following Spotify schema. Adopt an operative framework with regulatory requirements fully embedded, fully aware of regulation updates. Collaborate with multiple teams across the bank and countries (Data Platforms, Digital factories, Risk, Finance, Compliance functions, Cross‑country CRM) in ideation, development and deployment phase. Smart young team fully engaged in revolutionizing the bank What we expect from you University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics. 4+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, AI, or ML Engineering, Big Data engineering. Advanced proficiency in Python and Pyspark. Strong knowledge of ML and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn). Proven experience with Databricks or Palantir Foundry. Familiarity with GCP services. Expertise in MLOps frameworks (e.g. MLFlow). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile environment. Optimize and troubleshoot Big Data workflows to ensure seamless operation. Implement best practices for data security, governance, scalability and cost optimization. A curiosity‑driven mindset with a passion for analyzing and transforming banking processes through AI. Excellent communication skills, especially with non‑technical stakeholders.
