Job ID: | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. The Healthcare AI organization in AWS is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead engineering teams working on AI‑powered healthcare solutions. We are developing innovative products that leverage generative and agentic AI to transform clinical and administrative workflows for patients and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities Lead technical design, development, deployment, and operations for AWS healthcare services Manage and mentor a team of software developers Work with product and program management to define and execute the roadmap Build and maintain high‑performing teams Drive architectural decisions for cloud services Ensure operational excellence and compliance Manage concurrent projects in an agile environment Foster innovation and technical excellence Develop solutions for healthcare challenges using cloud and AI technologies About the Team Join a team that is shaping the future of AI in healthcare. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of engineering experience 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and site‑operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness Experience delivering solutions that adhere to healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7 Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base salary range for this position is 184,900.00 – 250,200.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
