A leading multinational company in the industrial sector is looking for an Area Sales Manager to oversee and grow its presence in the Middle East region. This role is meant to amplify the effectiveness of the Salesmen job and SoW (Share of Wallet) when calling on customers within the specific markets in the region within a model of indirect business. By focusing on customer needs and main business drivers, the Area Manager will help deliver tailored value propositions and expand the product portfolio in the region. Main Responsibilities Lead and coordinate sales activity within the assigned region through a distributor-based, indirect sales model. Manage and support a regional sales team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market needs. Achieve assigned targets on the back of AOP. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive activity, and provide regular reporting to senior management. Collaborate in defining the market strategy within a matrix organization, involving multiple internal stakeholders. Drive strategic account planning and manage negotiations at all levels. Maintain regular contact with key customers and distributors, planning structured and effective visits. Ensure sales representatives deliver optimal product and solution mixes, maximizing the company’s presence and offering per customer. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring cost control in line with objectives. Apply company guidelines for contract review and ensure appropriate delegation of authority is in place. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar Area Manager role. Proven track record in sales management within the MEA region. Proven track record in handling distributors, retailers, contractors. Fluency in English, Arabic and French (written and spoken) is required. Key competences: Strong business acumen and a customer-centric approach. Strong understanding of the key financials KPIs Target-driven with the ability to consistently deliver results. High resilience and effective stress management. Flexible, dynamic, and proactive, with strong cultural sensitivity toward the MEA region. Capable of working in complex, matrix organizations. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Advanced negotiation and communication skills, including public speaking. Marketing mindset: strategic planning, account development, and competitor intelligence. Ability to define value propositions and set priorities based on business impact. Passion for innovation, with a continuous improvement and risk-taking attitude. Strong focus on Commercial Excellence. This role focuses on building key relationships and securing contracts for our expanding Ground & Rail operations through a combination of direct and indirect sales techniques. As a Business Development Expert, your primary responsibility will be to identify opportunities for business growth and develop strategies to increase sales. You will engage with both existing and potential clients, ensuring that our ground transport solutions meet the evolving needs of the market. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Ground/Transport operations and excel in executing high-impact sales strategies. Execute and drive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Ground & Rail sectors. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to generate repeat and new business. Analyze market trends and competitors, adjusting your sales approach as needed. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional delivery and customer satisfaction. Apply persuasive negotiation skills and a problem-solving mindset to overcome sales challenges. Embrace a competitive, results-oriented attitude while working effectively within a team. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). Minimum five years of experience in sales, ideally within the transport sector with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Results-driven with the ability to work effectively under pressure. In-depth knowledge of the Ground transport industry and market dynamics.
