The pioneering service, which was the first of its kind and has been in operation for more than 30 years, provides round the clock access to technical advice for the maritime community in the event that of a shipboard emergency such as flooding, grounding, explosion or a loss in stability, etc.The opportunity to work for an organization that has a strong sense of purpose, is values driven and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes.Competative compensation package.The roleTrain to participate in drills and emergencies as a member of the SERS on‑call teamPrepare and maintain computer models of marine assetsDevelop and maintain emergency response tools and proceduresDevelop and deliver training internally and externallyUndertake consultancy projectsPeer review colleagues' workPursue continual professional development, to keep up to date with current vessel operations and technology trends.What you bringA degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea‑going experience as a certificated ship's officerExperience modelling vessels with NAPA and / or SeasafeGood understanding of emergency response techniques, theory and proceduresThe ability to pay attention to detailsThe ability to work towards set timelinesThe ability to work with speed and accuracy even when under time pressureExcellent communication skills appropriate to the audienceExcellent command of the English languageDemonstrated skills in coordinating projectsMembership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards chartered status.About usWe are a leading international technical professional service provider and a leader in classification, compliance, and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industry, a trusted advisor to our customers helping to design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.
