We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team within Amazon Web Services and are looking for a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding and the drive and vision to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. The successful candidate for this role will create sustainable processes and standards and drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability. The mission of the team is to deliver network on time with zero rework. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, grow a team and oversee their development and. The successful candidate will have experience managing and mentoring people, tracking budgets, providing strategic direction and proposing technical solutions. The manager will ultimately be responsible for installing and delivering our network equipment and related infrastructures, as well as driving low voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform. Key Job Responsibilities Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching and creating documentation. Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages. Manage the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment. Guide, train and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues. Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects. Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs. Provide weekly report to the data center manager. Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off‑hours and on‑call needs. Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Host weekly staff meetings. Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements. Up to 10‑20% travel. Basic Qualifications 5+ years management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment. 3+ years experience implementing LEAN/6 Sigma methodology (continuous improvement, DMAIC/DVADV, 5 Whys, root cause analysis, etc). 7+ Years of experience working with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, and experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies within a data center‑based environment. Experience working with computer components and operating systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Up to 10‑20% travel. Good team, organizational and planning skills, as well as stringent time‑management skills to balance dynamic workloads in a complex and dynamic environment. Experience with system management tools and client/server environments. In‑depth hardware architecture knowledge and troubleshooting experience. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $292,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
