Location: Livorno, ItalyType: Permanent/ContractStart Date: ImmediateTelecommunication Engineers Our Client is looking for Telecommunication Engineers to work in their Research and Development Department, which is actively involved in the field of optical communications for satellite applications, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The candidates will support the design, realisation and operation of a new test-facility aiming at assessing and certifying the interoperability of Optical Communication Terminal Payloads.Responsibilities Participating in design and validation of test-benches for free-space optical communication systems and devices operating at very high bit-rates (> 100 Gb/s)Conduct test-campaigns following relevant standardsActive participation in international standardisation committeesQualifications and Experience Strong passion for the development of new technologiesDegree in Telecommunication EngineeringBasic knowledge of tests and measurement practices for signal integrity analysis, assessment of transmission systems and telecom opto-electronic devicesKnowledge of automation/data analysis software environment (LabView, Python, C)PhD in relevant fields is appreciated, but not mandatory“Problem Solving” attitude, autonomy and “pro-activity”Willingness to learn new tools and methodologiesThese are full time permanent positions in Livorno, Italy.
