Stratobotic is based in Turin and is part of the Italian and European aerospace startup ecosystem.PositionStratobotic is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer for the development, tuning, and validation of control algorithms, flight simulation, and system integration.The selected candidate will refine and validate the flight control system under simulated and real operational conditions, handle onboard system integration, and collaborate with engineering teams on the design and evolution of innovative stratospheric platforms.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize flight control algorithms for UAVs, including stabilization, guidance, and navigationImplement, tune, and validate control systemsImprove and validate the flight simulator for mission planning and performance analysisIntegrate sensors and payloadsPerform Hardware-in-the-Loop and flight tests, data analysis, and performance validationDevelop ground tools for mission planning, calibration, and automated data analysisCollaborate with software, electronics, and mechanical teams to optimize aerodynamics and flight dynamicsProduce clear, complete documentation of procedures, tuning processes, and resultsRequirementsDegree in Aerospace, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or related fieldExperience with UAVs, aeromodeling, or UAV propulsion systemsBasic knowledge of flight controllersFamiliarity with aerodynamic modeling and flight dynamics simulationsSkills in UAV electronic integration (batteries, ESCs, servos, wiring)Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programmingExperience in flight testing and data analysisUnderstanding of automatic control principles and algorithm tuningExcellent technical documentation skillsBonusKnowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)Experience with ROS/GazeboBasic fixed-wing drone piloting experience or UAS licenseWhat we offerCompetitive market salary commensurate with experienceKey role in Stratobotic's technical and operational growth (opportunity for rapid career advancement)Results-oriented work environment that values initiative and professional growthAccess to the Turin aerospace ecosystem, one of the largest aerospace ecosystems in Europe, allowing you to learn firsthand about the dynamics of the space economyHigh-impact work in the emerging industry of stratospheric platforms (High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellites)Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesDefense and Space Manufacturing#J-18808-Ljbffr
