The Benefits EnEx (Enrollment Experience) team manages all the technology related to enrolling and managing benefit selections.Role OverviewIn this role, you play a pivotal part in shaping the user enrollment experience through the written content that guides employees as they discover and enroll in their benefits. Working alongside product, UX, and software developers, you will craft intuitive, user‑focused content that helps employees navigate the product, understand their available options, take necessary actions, and resolve issues. As a partner with Product and UX, you bring design thinking to craft content for customer enablement. Whether writing long or short‑form content, our customers' time and attention span is limited; therefore you understand the importance of every single word. You will also own content utilized within enrollment communication channels such as email, marketing materials for Open Enrollment (OE), or internally published articles related to OE.You will own the development and maintenance of comprehensive style guides, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience end‑to‑end. Additionally, you will conduct user research and A/B testing to continuously refine the written content and optimize the overall user experience.Key ResponsibilitiesWrite and edit compelling UX copy for new benefits features, including product descriptions, regulatory notifications, navigation, and tooltipsAnticipate user needs to craft concise, actionable copy for complex concepts and desired actionsEnsure all product content aligns with brand, legal, and accessibility requirementsCollaborate closely with product and UX teams to align content across the user experienceConduct user research and content testing to inform and improve your writingDevelop and maintain comprehensive copywriting guidelines and style guidesLeverage data and user feedback to guide impactful content recommendationsInfluence product strategy through thoughtful discussions with key stakeholdersContinuously optimize content based on user feedback and performance metricsEstablish and maintain a tone of voice aligned with the Amazon brand, tailored to employeesA Day in the LifeIn this role, you will craft content that guides employees as they discover, enroll in, and manage their benefits. Working alongside product designers, researchers, and benefits managers, you will develop and execute a user‑focused content strategy that helps employees navigate the product, understand their available options, take necessary actions, and resolve issues. You will manage the lifecycle of important employee benefits content. Whether it's accessing medical care, starting a family, or planning for retirement, we're redefining the status quo through a personalized mobile and web‑based product that anticipates employee needs, surfaces relevant information and actions, and empowers Amazonians to maximize the value of their comprehensive benefits.Basic Qualifications5+ years of technical writing in a relevant field experienceExperience with content management systems (CMS), Basic HTML, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft ExcelExperience communicating technical concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visualsExperience delivering content publication plans or managing multiple projectsExperience in content creation or copy editing, including online publishingPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, English, Technical Writing, or a related fieldExperience in creating UX for brand new productsExperience with UI design for complex workflows and for end usersKnowledge of user experience principles and techniquesExperience with U.S. benefits programs and benefits administration management, U.S. benefits compliance and regulations including but not limited to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ACACompensation & BenefitsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $191,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
